Okay I didn't make the school volleyball team this year and I'm afraid I wont make it the next. Should I join a club volleyball team? If not, will I ever catch up, skillwise, to those that made the team this year? Club volleyball is expensive , but I want to do the best that I can next year? What are your thoughts?

  1. yes, i think you should play club.......you will keeping up with latest skills and it will teach you the thing that will help you make the team next year......the more you play the better you will become....i pray you make the team next year and try to keep playing...summer is coming and beach volleyball is one of the hardest so try that and if you can get the basics you are half way there...lol....

  2. I would definitely do the club route...someone said that you need more touches on the ball, and thats completely true. Besides Club ball, I would also look into doing some clinics, especially if you know your weaker at hitting that passing, or vice versa.

  3. yes, you should do club volleyball. I couldn't play this year at my school because I'm also a cheerleader, and the practices would overlap. But i joined a club league so I could keep my skills for high school. So far it is really helping, and I'm getting noticed by scouts from other schools and leagues. It has been really helpful and I would recommend it to anyone who is in your position. Good Luck deciding :]

  4. yeah you should try out...i mean you want to play volleyball so why not...and even though it is expensive...all the friends that you meet there could have a fundraiser with you...it would be a team bonding thing and you get to make money...if you don't make club don't sweat it...camps do not require that you be specific skill level...and nobody can stop you from playing against the wall..so I think you should try out for club and practice lots at home...if you do that then you will make the high school team...and have all the good cheers lol

  5. yes, i play club, and my brother did! You don't have to go to the most expensive clubs, but they do get the best practice and probably have the better team. but any club team is great for practice all year long until the next season!

  6. If you want to play more volleyball club is the only way to go the High School season is to short. Also if your long term goal is to get noticed or play for a college they are playing at the same time as your High School so playing club is when their coaches have time to go and recruit.

  7. ok club helped me alloott!

i sucked i sat the bench all year last year then last season i did club and i made jv!

    it improves your skills alot!

I am in club now and i went from a sucky passer to a libero in 2 seasons.

and my club gives out scholarships

ask your club if they do too

  8. Go to camps, clubs, and definately practice do what ever you can if you r really commited if you want something all you gotta do is reach out and grab it....

  9. I would say that the only way to get you into your school's team next year is to join a club team now and improve yourself to the best of you.

  10. If you want to make the team next year, you should try out for club.  It is expensive, but you will be practicing several times a week.  You will also play in tournaments.  That is what you need.  More touches on the ball.  I hope you can make a club team and then make the school team next year.
