I was planning on getting the following for a eMachines w4682

the motherboard supports Hyper-threading and a 533MHz FSB

for the CPU I was going to get an OEM Intel 3.06GHz Hyper-threading Northwood core 512kb cache 117 plus a 27 dollar fan and heatsink so I get a 1 year warranty instead of 30 days. For the hard drive I was going to get a 750GB 16MB cache 7200RPM for 149.99. For the memory I was going to get 2GB of Crucial brand memory for 75 dollars. I was also going to get a DVD Burner for 25 dollars. For the video card I was going to get a 7600GT AGP 4X/8X 512MB RAM for 110 dollars. The total for these upgrades is 515 dollars plus shipping for some of the items. As some of the items I put the shipping in there. I looked at some computers in that price range and I could not find a computer with the same or better video card RAM and hard drive. Some had dual core and or more RAM or a better video card but none had all three better than the upgrade setup that I am planning on doing.

  1. The best thing for you to do is to rent rather than buy a very expensive specifications. And TR Vidcom is the best company that offers cost-effective renting!

  2. There are a couple of items you don't mention in your upgrade quotes, so let's start there. What about case, power supply, and operating system? With everything else you're changing, will the P/S be sufficient? Will the old case hold the m/b and all accessories properly? (You don't mention what you have or if the form- factor matches the new m/b.) Will you be able to use the old operating system? Activating Windows (if that's what you have) may require convincing a techie on the phone that you are not just putting the ops on a new computer.

And since you mention warranty, keep in mind that your components may each have a warranty, but the complete system does not. If you run into a problem where something doesn't 'get along' with another component, but both work as per specs on their own, you're on your own deciding which to replace, since it won't be a warranty issue for either component.

Is it worth it? Only you can decide.

  3. you should upgrade because it will cost u less you have a good computer just upgrade to a new version!

  4. Will you have warranty and access to tech support with these will you have a company that will stand by the products even though you have combined them with other brands? I know that you can get quad core machines now. Here is an example sold at bestbuy

very impressive specs, only about $200 more than what you are building only slightly smaller hard drive but 3 times more ram I am not sure about all of the rest of the video stuff you describe as I am not that familiar with the video aspects of the computer but I know that this machine would be sweet.

in the end you know what you use your computer better than anyone else so whatever you decide best wishes

  5. upgrade

if  you cant find anything comparative  just upgrade sounds like a d**n fine machine when your done
