My daughter is eleven weeks old. She was fine for sleeping through the night and really needs the sleep. Recently sha started waking up at six am and is starving hungry. So I give her a bottle and she is then awake for an hour and then gets really grizzly and wants to go back to sleep. However she is not very good with daytime sleep and so is grizzly all day. She does not really sleep during the day, only has catnaps of 30-45 min. I was wondering if it helped to give her hungry baby milk for her six pm and 11pm feed to see whether she would settle better. Please advise

  1. I'M STICKING MY NECK IN THE NOOSE HERE.

If your baby is as hungry as mine were at that age,

    [ the eldest is 35,youngest 20 with 2 inbetween]

I would start giving her baby solids. These start from 3 months: So there are obviously a lot of thriving babies out there.

The key here is to start with very bland food like baby cereal,Not anything sweet like puddings. Once your TiddlyPeep has become accustomed to this,[it will take a little patience for her to get the hang of the texture]

So she may react by reching or spitting it out.You just perservere until Baby gets the idea and taste.

Slowly introduce other tastes like Dinners,[ for Baby]

Never try to force her to have more than she is ready to take and be patient as Baby has to get used to the idea.  Good Luck, and just incase you are wondering,

My children have All thrived, I have 2 strapping sons and 2 lovely Girls.

Plus Grandchildren who again were started on solids at 3 months and are all Thriving.

  2. Why not. It wont do any harm and it does full them up more. With my 4 week old son i have put him on Hungry baby after 3 weeks of two hour feeds at 5 ounces a time. Hard going when you've got a 3 year old to try and spend some time with. Now he goes just under the 4 hours and he much happier. Just give some cooled boiled water in between cause it can make them a little cconsipated but i have had no problems with that so far.

  3. Yes it sounds to me like she needs it!...Theres no harm in giving her hungry baby milk at all, I did with my daughter and she sleep from 8.00pm untill 7.00am with out a peep from her!!...

    Good Luck!...

  4. How much does she take? If it's only say 6/7oz give her 1 more. If not then hungry baby milk should be fine. I had my eldest on it at 9 weeks, and my youngest at 11 weeks and they were both fine.

  5. i found that with the hungry baby formula made my son REALLY constipated, he was taking 10-12 bottles of 150mls in a 24 hour period so i though changing would help him become a little more settled but it actually did the compleate opposite,

i would talk to your daughters doctor and see what they say

  6. I did with my baby, i tried every milk on the market eventually he settled with aptamil hungry baby and was much better. he was about the same age. It s your decision you know best. good luck
