Should I use alcohol to clean my Nintendo DS Lite???

I've been playing Mario Kart DS for quite a bit and all that button mashing had made it really dirty. ive tryed using water with microfibre cloth, not much results. i tryed using alcohol, it sort of work but the buttons still look dirty. Should i leave the alcohol on for it it evapourate or rub it off with dry cloth or wet cloth? please help!!! i really like my DS and i want to keep it in good condition.

You could probably use disposable cleaning wipes, like Lysol cleaning wipes. That should take the dirt off without harming your DS. Good luck!

I wouldn't.  At work we had hand held equipment (for meter reading) with a plastic case and with number keys which we would use to enter data when in the field. Of course, the equipment got dirty.

Our boss would not let us use alcohol on it.  He said that it degrades the plastics.  I used it on my keyboard at work and the paint on the letters eventually disappeared and those keys became pitted (not smooth & shiny like the keys used and cleaned less often).

In the office, we used alcohol to clean equipment such as keyboards and especially telephones because people sometimes shared them.  Health was the issue there.
