Question:

Should I use black or another colour?

I'm making a drawing of a lit candle in a dark room to convey 'truth'.

I want to use a colour other than black or just a dark blue to show darkness.

And what colour should I make the candle to be. I was thinking of a dark red. Or should I choose a colour that contrasts the background. I want the flame to be the 'truth', so I want the flame to stand out.

Thank you so much for the help.

  1. dark, shadowy, charcoal gray...the candle can be red, but stay with a rustic red, subdued, but still in contrast....very little light in the flame.....

  2. i think the candle should bea whitish-yellow-ee color to show age and contrast. very waxy, in my opinion, like its been burning for a while
