I am currently changing the central heating radiators around the house but not sure which kind of solder to use on the pipes - leaded or unleaded? What are the pros and cons of each type?

  1. unleaded solder.there should be no leaded solder  in hardware stores anymore. i think they refer to the uleaded as silver solder

  2. You do not use solder on galvanized pipes.

    You use pipe dope paste.

Copper is not used on radiators.

The water hammer from the condensation,

    will cause them to break.

When you do work with copper, go unleaded.

That way, you will not get lead poisoning. <}:-})
