  1. They just managed to clear off most of the riots by restoring their parliament, but I wouldn't suggest it because the maoists are still on the rampage.

  2. wait for some weeks till all the disturbances and strife has ended though democracy has been partially restored there.

  3. I was ther last year doing the Base Camp trail for 3 weeks, It was the same situation then as it is now & it was pretty safe, no problems at all for me. I also still have contact from the Guide in Kathmandu & he emialed me last week to say its still ok for tourists to visit. The Maoists are for tourists aswell & are not targets in any way. Though if you are stopped by them on the Anapurna route you may have to pay $100 but thats all. no kidnappings etc. Check with Embassy first though

  4. sure thing

  5. no..not now because all the normal functioning of the country is put to halt ...like schools r closed ....wait for few weeks

  6. Nepal is a place where tourist will never be targeted. You must visit Nepal, its wonderful place. Most of people say, its a HEAVEN.

  7. next 2-3 months are wonderful time to visit nepal. trekking touring and safaris are best during this time. Another imp thing is, theres no protest or demonstrations at the moment. So its safe to go any part of the country.

You can contact your travel agent and get more details on it. Ensure yourself you will enjoy your holidays rather other things. collect as much information before your visit. Your country's embassy in Nepal can also help you in this factor.

  9. I have my sister who is a doctor in Nepal and her prognosis of the situation is not too good. I would recommend that you postpone your trip in the region for some time.

I am attaching a few links to the Nepalese news sources that usually post updated news on their website. Please check these along with CNN and other major news source to ascertain when the situation has calmed down in Nepal.

  10. Any time you visit another culture it expands your world and makes you a more educated person.  I would without hesitation. Have a great trip.  But then I was told I was crazy for visiting Pakistan last year.

  11. No way buddy! With all those Maoist terrorists and violent pro-democracy protests, you don't want to get caught in  the political storm.

Better wait an year atleast. By then normalcy would have returned.

However, if you are in Iraq, Nepal would seem like heaven.

  12. Not now. But then I have traveled during unrest into countries and was OK. One just never knows. How adventurous are you?
