Should I wait to apply for college?

My GPA is probably at about a 2.85 unweighted right now. I'm signing up to retake algebra 1, which I got a D in for my freshman year. That'll bring up my GPA by a few. Should I wait until I'm finished with that course? or should I just apply now?

I think it depends on where you're applying, and how competitive the application pool is there, but applications generally aren't due until Winter, and your the grades you make at the beginning of senior year do count, so I think you should wait to send everything in until you have your application (meaning your Essays, Transcripts, Recommendations, all that good stuff) completely ready : )
