Should I wax my new burton custom X before use it?

If its new it should already be waxed. you can strap in and hit the slopes..after your first use i would wax it again, then should be set for a couple trips..

You don't "need" to wax your new board, but cleaning and re-waxing is not a bad idea either.

New boards often come with a "factory wax."  I always clean the base of any new board with a citrus base cleaner and then apply my own hot wax before riding it.  I have two reasons for this: 1) the factory wax is an inexpensive wax that is applied to protect thee base until it is sold. 2) The wax can be clotted with dirt from the factory (look at what comes up when you clean it!)

You don't need to, but it can't hurt.
