Should I wear a bandana?

I just got a black and white checkered bandana from Hot Topic to wear around my neck, and I was wondering, does it mean anything? Because I've heard that certain bandanas correspond to gangs and stuff like that. I've seen people wear it and I think it looks cool. What about you? Here's how I look with it
