Question:

Should I wear my contacts to an eye exam?

I wear contacts...I've worn them for probably two years now (my last prescription was apparently good for two years).

I need to have an eye exam soon, to get some more contacts. I wear both glasses and contacts. But mainly my contacts, because my glasses are a little older. So...do I go to my eye exam with my contacts in, just wear my glasses...or nothing to let my eyes relax? I'm a little confused about that. Thanks. :-)

  1. I always wear my contacts to the exam. They just have you take them out.

  2. I would suggest wearing them.  Like valgonza said, the optometrist will want to see how well you are seeing with them and how well they are fitting on your eyes.  Take your glasses with you, though, because you will have to take your contacts out for part of the exam and you'll want to be able to see.  :)

  3. if i were u i'd just wear the glasses coz the'yre easier to take off =P

  4. wear your contacts to the exam. in our office we check your vision with them in to see how you are seeing with that brand and rx. if you didnt buy the contacts from that doctors office, bring the boxes that the contacts came in. (if you dont have them, try to find out the brand and strength of the contacts). also, bring your glasses so you know if you will need to update those as well as any sunglasses that you wear. (even if they are from the gas station-you can compare what you are wearing to a good pair to see what you are missing out on).

hope this helps and good luck!

  5. Usually you would wear the contacts, but best to call the eye doctor's office and see what they prefer.
