  1. Yes

  2. i run a 4:49 in regular nike air's

  3. Spikes give you about 1 sec per lap over training flats.  Only you know whether that is enough improvement to justify wearing them.

Racing flats are as fast as spikes for running the mile as long as the track is dry.

  4. It's really a personal preference between flats and spikes. There is not really an advantage one has over the other. Except in adverse weather conditions in CC. But you don't have to worry about that on a track.

I personally love flats. I've run absolutly fine in them and I'm one of the fastest 1600M runners and the fastest 3200M runner.

Good luck and hope this helps.

  5. i wore spike when i did the mile in a rubber track with 1/4 inches. i hurt my ankle and i doubt im ever gonna use spikes again on the mile. but i use regular nike airs and the work great. :D

  6. yeah you should they are light weight and normally make you go faster.

  7. yes there are some good middistance spikes available. It will help with your traction especially if you are running on rubber tracks

  8. Yes, they should help your individual lap times by a second or two each. And especially if you sprint at the end they will help shave off a four or five seconds then.

  9. If you want to.

  10. Yes, I wear my spikes when I run the mile.  I usually wear 1/8 in. spikes not the 1/4 in.  If you don't prefer spikes you can wear waffle shoes instead which are just as light weight at spikes except they don't have spikes.
