Should I wire DVC subs series, parallel, or what combination?

I know a little about wiring DVCs. I know you can do straight series, straight parallel, parallel subs with series DVCs, and visa-versa. I just don't know what would be the best option for me. Since I don't know too much about ohms and loads of amps. This is what I'm running.

  1. I'm going to assume that the actual power handling of the two subs matches the actual RMS output of the amplifier in bridged mode.  With these brands, it's like pulling teeth to find actual RMS power ratings, as opposed to the "max" ratings you've listed, which are wildly over-inflated.

Anyway, I'd suggest wiring the subs in a series/parallel configuration to the amplifier in bridged mode.  Here's a diagram:

This should result in a 4-ohm load for the amp, which is the minimum you'd want in bridged mode.

  2. i think you should run the subwoofers series to have the amp load at 4 ohms..the amp is perhaps only 2 ohms stable speaking on experience with most 2 channel amps....

  3. First off you need to understand that the wattage rartings you listed are meaningless.

    The amp is 900 watts RMS X 1 @ 4 ohm bridged.

The subs together have a power handling of only 700 watts RMS (350 each).

So the amp will be too much for those subs.

The only SAFE thing you can really do is wire each sub series to each channel. this will be an 8 ohm load pushing about 225 watts RMS per sub.
