  1. Maybe applebee's would be better, if you are in a good neighborhood with people who tip well.

  2. My neighbour's kid works at Applebee's. He likes his job and says they are very accomodating with his school schedule, and says he makes most of his money working midweek and weekend shifts. They pay him $7.25/hr plus tips. He says with tips, he's averaging about $12/hr. We're in California, our state minimum is $7.25/hr.

By the way. The Federal minimum is not $8.00/hr as a previous answer indicated. The Federal minimum wage is currently $6.55/hr.it will increase to $7.25/hr effective July 24, 2009. The link below, to the Dept of Labor, confirms this.

  3. The biggest benefit to working at Applebee's is the future opertunity, we promote manay of our hosts to either carside and or server. both of which make much more in tips. A server for example can make 20-30 dollors an hour and the hours are very flexible.

  4. Man you should keep the job you have now , but if you switch to Applebee's your salery will go DOOWWNN!!!! You should seriously stick to Dairy Queen.

  5. Well, there is a huge difference in atmosphere between these two places too. You will have people drinking and probably drunk at Applebee's, so think about whether that is something you are willing to deal with. I think you will make more, especially if you work hard and are able to pick up extra hours. You will be working with more mature people at Applebee's too, (judging by the people that work at ours..the majority of servers and hosts are 24-30 years old) and not so many teens. I don't know how old you are, but that would make a lot of difference to me. Good luck with whatever you do.

  6. do what ever you enjoy more! if you like apple bees more go there if not stay with your job!!!

  7. applebee's you will get much more tips there and even though your paid less you wii get more because of tips now a days tips are usally $8

  8. Applebee's is legally suppose to give you atleast 8 dollars an hour because that's the federal minimum wage. If you tell them that, then you will most likely give you 8 dollars an hour because they would be too scared to get sued. I would recommend that you stay at Dairy Queen.

  9. You will make at least seven dollars and hour in addition to your original wages. Tip share works like this: a server gives 3 percent of their sales for the shift to tip share. The hosts, bartender, and expo split the tipshare. If you are the only host on a sunday night after 7, with only one bartender and one expo, if the shift is pretty steady, you can make 25-40 dollars in one shift. Day shifts, it's more like 12-20, but you're only working for two or three hours.

  10. the hosts at Applebees are also the bust boys

and host dont get that much tips keep your job

  11. Being a hostess at a actual resteraunt will deff make you more tips considering that just about every custome you have will give you a tip. Id choose applebees.
