I have applied to a few places and the apple store was the first to interview me, I had 2 interviews and I think they went great, they said they have to discuss with each other (the 2 managers) and they'll get back to me this week (good or bad). I also Applied to the geek squad and had given up after a week of not hearing from them, but I got a call and they want me to interview, I'm wondering which place I should work at if I get both. I can't be a genius at apple since I'm part time (I'm a student) geek squad pays from 9-11 (depending on experience) and apple pays around 10.50 (that's what my friends got) Apple has a good discount but not as many items to purchase, while best buy has a lot more things to get a discount on (I'm trying to get a new 26-32 LCD around 4-500) i have heard a lot of geek squad horror stories, I'm looking for a place where I can be myself and not fear getting fired for not doing stupid things. I'm looking for a place where I can enjoy working at most of the time. I love computers, I'm good at fixing them, but don't know if i want that to me my profession. I love macs now that I have one and would love to share the word. I'm in a huge dilemma

  1. IDK... They're both pretty dorky.....

  2. Apple, I have more respect for them!  For whatever reason I always think the Geek Squad people are dumb!  Oh wait, that is because my brother-in-law, the computer engineer says, never trust the Geek Squad, they are dumb!

  3. I don't think it's dorky...;)

Best buy sucks, apple seems like it would be way less uptight, plus you get discounts on some pretty cool **** that's pretty expensive, and you could fix computers and probably get paid for it without being on geek squad. If you love macs go with apple, it seems way better, seriously.

  4. The one thing that stands out about Apple is it's user base. We take pride in our choice of platform and are indeed enthusiasts. Mac users typically are in the "know" about anything Apple. Best Buy's repulsive Geek Squad takes no pride in what they do. They are there to scam and sell to anybody that drinks their cool aid. There is a reason why there are horror stories. Do you want to stand behind a company that is notorious for be devious? Do you want people to know your on a team with a bunch of scammers? I have never heard about Apple spying on customers or trying to "up sell" unnecessary services. Come on! Best Buy charges 29.99 to install software on your Mac. Apple will do it for free. One thing to note about Apple is that when you come into the store you are not pressured. You are usually helped by someone who loves and knows their Mac. If you want training or need some tech support you can come in free of charge. Lets see Best Buy do that.
