I was working one day and suddenly I had and epiphany: I had a great idea for a book!! Now, should I bother with this:

PLOT:In the world of Eledra, a world far different from ours, where magic is a way way of life and runs through and composes the very fabric of the world, where magical creatures roam, and a dark evil encroach upon the world. A land of heroes and villains. A land of of seven spheres of magic: life and death, fire and water, earth and air, and cosmic, a mixture of all the spheres of magic combined. In this world of Eledra, a baby boy is born in the land of Morraval in a small rural village -- his destiny to become a great cornerstone in the history of Eledra. As he grows up, he shows and interest in the magic arts. At the age of fifteen, he is walking through the woods, and he notices a falling star. The falling star hits the ground no more than a mile away from him. he goes and finds the place where it hit and sees a fiery stone lying in the center of a blacked crater. He is drawn to pick up the strangely alluring stone. he stares deep into the stone and is endowed with the power of the sphere of fire (I'll explain how in the book lol). less than a week later, his village is destroyed by marauders from the north. He is the only survivor of the terrible raid. a mysterious man approaches him and takes him to the arcane academy of the magic where he learns that he must master all the spheres of magic and defeat a great evil in the form of a maddened demigod, and more( ill explain later i haven't thought of them yet lol). In his great quest to restore balance to the world he meets friends, finds love, undergoes great challenges, and makes enemies as well.

I want to write a series of seven books, one for each sphere of magic, which follow his story as he masters the spheres of magic and restores balance to a world torn be a war between the gods and between the races of man.

  1. Go for it.  I've just finished writing my first novel (Big Mistake) and finally submitted the manuscript to Triple Crown Publishing on August 1st; I should hear back from them with a review by October 1st.

My point being, if you've got an idea then stick with it.  Never-mind what anyone thinks or has to say.  You've got to keep at it until you have accomplished your goal. Writing is a gift from God to be shared with the world.

    Best of luck to you!

  2. I don't want to be rude, but the "he must learn all the spheres of magic and defeat a great evil in the form of a maddened demigod and more" - it reminds me of Avatar the Last Airbender. But just because it's similar doesn't mean you can't use it anyways. I'd say go for it. It would attract Harry Potter fans, i'm sure.

    Love always, keep writing -

  3. If you are passionate about your story and writing, then write it.  If not, don't bother.  Who cares what we think about it; write it for yourself.

  4.      Sounds good to me, but I'm no expert on this particular genre.  Seems as though you have a good plot and the potential for plenty of excitement.  Certainly I'd write it.  Good luck.
