  1. Well where I teach high school they have study hall.  Nobody really studies they talk more then anything.  I think they should be allowed to have ipods during this time.

Kids  know not to use cell phones during class etc. They leave them turned off in their lockers or purses.  If caught they are confiscated until the end of the day.

  2. Yeah Ipods should, but you have to have head phones. and your old enough to decide if you want use it or not,

  3. That's up for debate. Ipods are not like cellphones in the fact that you can't communicate with them. I think that you should be allowed to listen to them in study halls or on the bus, but when in a class Ipods should have to be shut off and put away. It makes me so angry when my classmates listen to their Ipods during class. It's really disrespectful to the teacher who has taken the time to prepare the lesson and it is inconsiderate to the rest of us who want to learn.

  4. Let's put it this way, how would you feel if someone did cartwheels in front of you while you were trying to recite a poem for a grade?  Would you think that it would be alright for that person to do cartwheels around the room while you were trying to concentrate on something that you have memorized for weeks?

Same with an iPod.  They are for recreation.  There is a place and time for everything.  When you are in school or listening to a lecturer/teacher or in a classroom, then the iPod should be turned off.

When you are in the cafeteria or on the campus then alright.  But definitely NOT in the library please?  I have such a hard time concentrating when I can hear the music of the gal next to me leaking out from her ear-buds.

  5. No. It distracts people from their homework.

It could be possible to listen to music and concentrate on homework, but there is no need to take a risk. Its a huge risk! Hope this helps!

  6. Yes, totally...They just might get stolen so, you'd have to be carefull...

  7. no

  8. No, No, No

There is far to much jealousy over what the other students wear, why would any school want to add more instability to their already hectic guidelines.

  9. i think ipods and mp3s should be allowed in middle school and up. I personally can't think and concentrate with out music or a TV on cartoons or something. But you should have headphones  and  they should be not allowed to people who turn it up to loud where  other people can hear it in the class room. And only have it out when the teachers are not talking so that they can pay attention.

  10. Well, I love my ipod too, but there is no way I can do homework at the same time... I get to singing along with the songs, dancin' and all that! lol

But hey?  It depends on who you are; if you aren't that all into music and you can focus on your homework while listening to it, why not?  But if you love music (like me) and always get into the songs you listen to, then I think not.

  11. Perhaps if you had a commons or a study hall, but I wouldn't reccommend having one on during a class. That is, unless it's an art one. That was the only time I was allowed to listen to my CD player (yes, cd player because when I was in HS, iPods weren't invented)

The point is, to respect your teacher or professor, and have your iPod on during time away from an actual class like I mentioned before.

  12. I think they should be allowed at break time and lunch time but should certainly be banned in lessons and assemblies and the canteen and so on.

    1. You can't concentrate on what the teacher is saying if you're listening to music.

    2. It's too easy for kids not to pay attention.

    3. Theft.

    4. Jealousy between other kids.

    5. It's rude!

  13. No.  You are there to learn, not listen to music.  I don't think cell phones should be allowed either.  We didn't have them with us when I was in school, and everything was just fine.

We also walked 5 miles in the snow, uphill both ways, in Texas...  :-)

Just follow the classroom rules so you don't get in trouble!
