  1. Sprint Cup is highly competitive....I think DJr is doing the right thing starting out in Nationwide and bringing in younger drivers & also getting some experienced drivers too.

He should get some Nationwide wins under his teams belts then maybe in a couple of years field 1 car in Sprint.

DJr needs to concentrate on getting his OWN WIN in Sprint w/Hendricks right now..........

  2. NO!

They're not even competitive in Nationwide, which has a bunch of cup drivers.  They need to get a good driver in their NNS car to develop.  A few have come and gone but they need to keep a stable one that is contending not just for races but for the championship.

When that happens, move the entire program up to the cup level.

  3. No way. JR Motorsports is not ready for cup. The costs might be comparable, but there is a whole lot more to it than that. I DO NOT want to see Jr. attempting that anytime soon.  He needs to establish JR Motorsports in the Nationwide series, and then MAYBE move it to Cup.

  4. I think they will be in there soon. Jr said that he wanted to move is team up to the cup level and he has some great drivers so I am sure that he will do good.

  5. I like Jr he is an awesome guy...his drivers in Nationwide are not ready for Sprint yet and neither are some of the drivers who are already in it causing accidents and such

  6. I don't see why not.  I was reading up on the costs to run Cup teams compared to Nationwide and there is little difference between both.  Why not just put the resources to a Cup team?  He should.  We all know he's sold enough bumper stickers and beer coozies to do it.

  7. Why shouldn't they? Jr knows what he's doing and they'd do okay in sprint cup

  8. Sara, I don't know where you get the idea that JRM is not competitive in the Nationwide Series, Kesolowski's the highest full time Nationwide driver in the standings. And the only time the 5's been none competitive is when Casill's driving it. h**l they even scored a top-5 with the 83 a one off car basically. The reason Jr's thinking of making JRM a cup team, is he figures that if they're going to be having to develop a COT type car for NNS, why not save the trouble and spend the money on a Cup COT.

  9. Looking at it from Jr's perspective, it makes sense to move his company to Cup, as the costs to run each series will be comparable. Yet, the sponsor money and possible earnings are much greater for the Cup series. As for whether he should from a competitive standpoint, I dont see why not. He will undoubtably have support from the Hendrick teams, so he will be at least on par with the other Hendrick satellite teams right off the bat. That might not be saying much, but thats where he will be at as a rookie owner.

  10. why so he can lose as a owner and driver
