Should John Lloyd remain Britain’s Davis Cup captain?

A loss to Lithuania on the weekend saw Britain’s Davis Cup performances sink to a new low. But should Lloyd be shown the door as a result of that one?

If he is, that would just make him a sacrificial lamb. That Lloyd didn’t have a strong field of candidates to choose from – with Andy Murray opting out of the Davis Cup as Britain languishes in the Europe/Africa zone Group II – isn’t his fault. There will inevitably be some soul searching, but sacking Lloyd would not seem to be the logical answer.
