Question:

Should Jonathon Broxton be removed from his role as closer?

He hasnt looked comfortable in the role and his blown a few saves lately. He's still young but right now I think his role as a set up man is better suited for him. Until Saito returns I think Kuo should be our closer. What do you think?

  1. Yea. He is a way better Set-up guy. He throws hard and the 9th innings isn't always easy for the Dodgers when he's in it.

  2. I think Broxton is fine as he is.  Kuo's been struggling for some games as well.

    For now, Broxton is allright.

  3. I would stick with Broxton for the time being!!

  4. I thought about it but, realistically, Broxton got the stuff and potential of a great closer. He's still a young pitcher in the Major League (at least by experience as a closer) and the move from being set-up man to closer probably caught him off guard. So far, Kuo has better control than Broxton and a nastier slider. For now, Kuo should be the closer until Broxton learn how to control his pitches. He keep walking his hitters which is an absolute no-no for any closer. Like you said, once he learn to settle down and put his pitches in the strike zones, he'll be good.

  5. Unfortunately, the Dodgers don't really have any alternatives right now.  The bullpen has been their strength, but is clearly fatigued and in a collective slump.  If anything, I'd be willing to see Torre just go with the "hot hand."
