  1. No, because a lot of other martial arts are being kicked out already, karate is already gone, judo is gone in 2012 and Tae Kwon Do is for vote to be taken out of the London games.  Also another thing to consider is that there are countries that MMA training is illegal. Not everyone would have a chance to be represented. Consider if a country host the games and MMA is banned, what would happen then?  It would be removed.

  2. the olympics would ruin mma like they ruin every other sport.

IMO- NO- BECAUSE THE OLYMPICS IS FULL OF CRAPPY SPORTST THAT AMOUNT TO NOTHING MORE THAN TIDDLY WINKS.

I would hate to see MMA- an arlready international sport, be brought down to that level.

if the olympics wants to become legitimate again and not have the equivalent of "red light green light 1 2 3" type of events they need to get rid of ALL sports except the traditional greek events in the original ancient olympics.

  3. MMA has already been a part of the Olympiad Games.

It's heart-breaking that NOT ONE OF YOU knows this.

Personally, I blame TUF® for the lack of knowledge among the majority of today's fans.

  4. No.  The blood scares away the sponsors.  Second is that there would have to be 4 matches or so over a 14 day schedule.  That would give the olympic people reason to restrict matches to 5 minute durations, ban strikes to a downed opponent, they would probably take out head kicks and knees.

The biggest reason is that fighters are tied into contracts with big promotions who don't want them to get hurt.

  5. No, because the scoring sucks.

Take downs and top positions, or leg kicks, and running (Kenny Florian) the possible victories would not be promote great action.

Unless it is more to the K-1 style then the UFC

  6. It would have to be very watered down because the recovery time after a match would preclude a meaningful tournament in 2 weeks.

Boxing, wrestling, TKD, and judo are still more popular worldwide and I don't see any of those federations being happy about adding something that distracts from their sports.  I'm certain they would actively lobby against it to the IOC

  7. I'd like to see it in the Olympics, but the different organizations (UFC, Affliction, etc) aren't going to waste their best fighters and inter promotional fights for free TV.  It won't ever happen, which stinks.

  8. Yes....However with a few rule change.

1/ Limit your time on the ground.

In 10-20 years time, it will.

  9. No it shouldn't. This is solely my opinion based on the following:

    1) Many other sports have been waiting much longer to get in, and it would not be fair to them.

    2) In order to be an Olympic sort you need to have a World governing body and world championships.

    3) I also do not think that you would have anybody still in hsape to fight for the gold in a tournament style such as the Olympics.

    4) MMA despite what people think is still that not popular a sport with the general public, at least not popular enough to warrent inclusion in the olympics.
