Question:

Should McDonald's offer free pop to customers?

Since all corporat stores have a contract with Coca-Cola in which Mcdonald's pays them a certain amount for the year and Mcdonals gets all the pop they want. Employees get to drink free pop all day long, at all stores nationwide, would it be that much of a difference if customers got free pop also? They already get free refills.

  1. Actually not all employees get free pop all day long.  I know of a few stores where the employees can only drink water.  Just because McDonald's works closely with the coke company it doesn't exactly mean they are rolling in the dough.  A lot of money comes from pop sales so if they just gave it way they would loose a good chunk of profit.

I'd be very interested to know where/how accurate the information you are getting is.

  2. Yes it would.  That is just not feasible.  Only when dining - in and at locations where you get own pop are there free refills. Not all stores offer, and it never occurs at drive thru. The loss would be to great. They must make money somehow.  People think businesses make such high profit and many times they do not take into effect wages, overhead, rent, lease, etc.

  3. McDonalds should be shut down.

  4. Fat chance of that happening.

  5. no, cutomers shouldn't get free pop.  There is very little that is free now a days

  6. we pay for it at every other place, what makes mcdonalds so special that we shouldnt have to

however, im always for free anything.

  7. it's not like employees guzzle it down all day, lol.  it's already super cheap for sodas at mcdonalds anyway, at the one in my town it's 96 cents for a 42 ounce soda, and of course free refills.

  8. Just to let you know at most of the McD's especially in Illinois, we don't get all the free pop we want in fact at the one that I was just working at they have a nasty drinking fountain in the back. So as far as getting free pop. Nope I don't think they should!!

McDonald's pays for each box of soda that comes in I believe it's like 15 bucks a bag (that is in a box) just like all the other restaurants. Not sure where you got your information but it is not accurate.

  9. No,

    Because They are customers.

    =]

  10. No.

  11. I think a patron should be required to buy a product first, but yeah, that would float my boat {in soda}....

  12. Notice how the free refills are NEVER advertised?  And why is there more than one size of soda?  Even if it would be a very good will issue, it aint gonna happen.

  13. No they make way to much on a cup of coke they profit too much to give it away.

  14. Yes it would make a huge difference.  They make most of their money from pop and fries.  Also, they pay for the syurp.

  15. Yes and burgers and all the other c**p that they serve!

  16. I work at McDonald's in tasmania (australia) we dont get to drink free "pop" but i know in Queensland they do. Anyways it costs like 50cents for a box of "pop" syrup so they would be losing money to give customers free "pop" however it would be nice for them to lower the price considering it costs $1.95 for a small drink, that only costs the store like 5cents...

  17. You cant get free pop, but you can beat them at their own game sorta.  Order a small, then ask for refills...you get all you want to drink for the price of a small instead of buying a large....thats about as good  as you can do

  18. h**l no because they have make some money from that i mean thats the point they have to make a profit
