It looks like we have another Hillary (a presidential canditate with a more charasmatic wife) although I like Michelle MUCH more than Hillary. Her speech was wonderful. Of course, she had many people probably helping her write it but you could tell that a lot of it was truly from her heart. She was eloquent but down-to-earth! She made a lot of sense. I didn't feel that same sense of dissatifaction that I feel when Barrack is done with a speech. Very clever to have her open the convention, don't you think? AND GET THIS EVERYONE! I WAS A McCAIN SUPPPORTER! I think Michelle may have made me change my mind! I just think that Barrack must not be that bad if he's married to Michelle and I'll start listening more to what he has to say now. I'm still undecided at this point. I was also very touched by Edward's speech. I'm kinda dreading Hillary's speech (I'm not a Clinton fan, Bill or Hillary, blah!). I'm expecting Oprah to probably be a speaker which will really help Obama. I have some questions!

1. ARE YOU A REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT?

2. IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN, DID LAST NIGHT'S SPEECHES MAKE YOU THINK TWICE?

3. DO YOU THINK McCAIN WILL GET THE SAME ATTENTION FOR HIS CONVENTION? (we all know the answer to that one since our media is sooo democratic)

4. DO YOU THINK THAT HILLARY WILL HURT OR HELP OBAMA?

5. WOULD YOU LIKE OPRAH TO SPEAK?

6. DO YOU THINK THEY WASTE TOO MUCH MONEY ON THESE CONVENTIONS?

  1. I love Michelle, but no. I wouldn't vote for her and she'd never run because she has NO gov't experience. Not even a little. But she's a great role model for strong, smart women.

    1. Democrat.

    3. No.

    4. Neither.

    5. Yes - She's inspiring.

    6. No, it's a great way to add unity and raise awareness about what we stand for.

  2. I think she wears the pants in the family.

  3. -Independent

-Independents vote, too, and no, still voting for McCain.  Even more committed, now.

-Yes, McCain will receive the same attention.

-Hillary will help if she can convince her supporters that she's changed her mind about Obama.  (Tongue in cheek.)

-No, celebrities opinions concerning politics don't interest me.

-Yes, I do think too much money is spent on the conventions.  They're glorified rhetorical parties.

  4. 1) Republican

    2) No they did not make me think twice... they just made me want to puke.

    3) Probably not... the media is controlled by liberals.

    4) She'll try an help him in her speech tonight.. but I think overall Hilary hurts Obama.

QUOTE from Hilary Clinton "I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And, Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yYlzX2ZO...

    5) Would I like Oprah to speak? Umm.. sure why not.

    6) Yes they probably do.  Wonder how much ENERGY the Dem Convention is using? kinda funny how liberals talk about O NOES global warming HALP.. we must do something.  THEN they fly their jets and have Conventions with Huge Plasma screens and  ya..

But seriously how big of a joke is the Dem Convention.  The Music = sickening. The crazy dancing people...  PEOPLE crying after/during Mrs Obamas speech?  And how lame was the little Town hall thing(completely staged)?

Oh did anyone notice the small section of people with the American Flags.. so they could swing by and get a FLAG shot everyone once and a while.

  5. I thought Michelle was working that cute little blue dress.  I can't find any pictures that show her shoes.  I want to see the shoes.  Does anyone know if she had on cute shoes?

  6. Why would anyones pre-written speech influence you? Everything anyone of them says is just for sound bits and to get your vote. Its all stage craft...ACTIONS not words!!

Kind of like saying I come in peace but then I attack you. The Actions are more important

  7. 1.Republican

    2. No I was rather disappointed. Nancy didn't really show that much pride. Kennedy was the same hateful, type of speech. Saying Obama is going to end racism, and the war. However the latest is he would like to see troops gone in 2016. Michelle's speech was boring, she just generalized it. Maybe something like it when they started public service times where a little rough, but the work was so rewarding. It almost came off as they did public service and should be rewarded for it.

    3. He should get some attention, but the media will go negative on it.

    4. I wouldn't put it past her. She will either half heartily support him and hopes he messes up so she could run again.

    5. Nope Oprah is one of the richest people in the country, would not talk about the struggles.

    6. For a party that talks about being green, they used many signs that had glossy paper which doesn't get recycled. They also had way to many lights. I would like to see them have a shoe string budget and use the money for helping people get out of foreclosure. .

  8. Mickey's "speech" was just boring blather. Yes, really. Once you've heard enough of these "speeches", you'll realize this simple fact. There is NOTHING more boring on American television than political conventions; that's why no one with a brain in their heads even considers watching them. And THAT is why they're on at 10 PM. Doh!

  9. Republican

Didn't listen to it, didn't want to waste my time.

    Yes.

She will utter the words she is instructed to speak. Beyond that hurt..

Why would Oprah need to speak. Is she offering someone in the

    audience a Lexus.

    Waste of time both conventions.
