I have some wild milk thistle growing and want to make use of them, I find directions but none say whether or not the seed should be dry or fresh before grinding into a powder. I haven't cut the plant apart yet. Does anyone harvest and prepare thier own thislte supplements?

  1. The seeds must be dry.

  2. To grind it into a powder it needs to be dry. To use as a compliment to a salad you would use them fresh.

Just leave them on the stalk to dry if you wish. Don't stick them in the oven or dehydrator, just let them dry naturally. You can set them in the sun to dry if you like. If you remove the seeds from the stalk to have them dry, them give them a couple of days to do it.
