NBA next season is going to fine any players in the league acting out just for a foul. Do you think NHL should do the same?

I dont like how sometimes a player dive and the nearest opposing team player get the 2 minutes.

  1. Fining people for diving would just be retarded. Besides, 90% of the time the ref will catch the player diving anyway.

  2. It's been said. When a player dives in a game they get a warning, second time they're fined, third time they are suspended. There has to be no question whatsoever that it was a dive though.

I'm not a fan of this rule, but I like it better than the NBA's. There is so much flopping in the NBA, and in the NHL diving isn't AS big of a problem. I think they should just call it more in games and not take it outside of that. As far as the NBA's concerned, let the refs call it, no need to fine players.

  3. refs try to keep the divers in line, but there has been a good diving class of 07-08.

  4. The NHL won't fine for dives. If they did that then poor Sid would be bankrupt.

  5. if the nhl fined for diving crosby would owe so much

  6. I would hope they do something about whining for calls and faking injury, but I don't have faith in the NHL to do anything right.

  7. Like people said there are consequenses for diving, however in the NHL injuries are so much more likely to occur then the NBA so I think it's a little harder to tell whos really hurt and whos diving (Ex- if anyone watched the RW Pengs game Wednesday there was one RW Zetterberg I think but Idk the team well, who is either a big baby or who was definatly diving. He was barely hit a few times and like layed on the ice)

  8. If the NBA is going to do that, maybe MLS and World Cup Soccer, and every other soccer league in the world should start fining.  Every soccer player would be panhandling before the 2nd game.

  9. The NHL already does. If a player is caught diving he gets a warning letter, and the second time he is fined $1,000

a third time and he gets suspended.
