  1. yes.. if he's injury is still bad.. so he can still play at the french.. but i would love to see him play both hamburg and french... the schedule is very very short and very bad for the players... both grass and clay court seasons are very very short...

  2. Yep... the scheduling sucks.  3 back-toback Masters tourneys....  They should make the clay-court and grass-courts seasons longer and more spaced out.

I really don't see the reason behind playing more hard-court tournaments right after the Australian Open.  Why can't they just start playing clay-court tournaments after the Aussie?  That way, they can get to the French sooner, and then allow more of a grass-court season before Wimbledon.

But maybe Paris is too cold to play tennis if it is held any earlier than late May.  I remember going there in July and it was still friggin' chilly.  Went to the Sampras-Rafter final at Wimbledon a few years back, and London was friggin' freezing that day, and it was July!!!

  3. Yes, he should skip Hamburg, and RG too otherwise he will get whipped. Long live the King

  4. Hope not 'cause Djokovic is right next to him... I'm afraid Novak might get Nadal's spot soon.

  5. no. hamburg and french fries always together, no?

  6. yes he should

  7. Yes to rest and fix his feet. No if he feels he can do it and won't hamper his RG preparations further. The fine for withdrawal from a MS event should be minor (if it applies due to his legitimate feet problem). He is in good enough shape and form to skip Hamburg.

The biggest NO is that it could cost him the #2 ranking and his seeding opposite Roger at RG or perhaps Wimbledon. Nadal has lost 450 points from  losing in Rome. Novak will lose no points in Rome this year (as he has equalled his 07 QF result) and lost in the Hamburg QF in 07. Nadal stands to lose a lot more points if he doesn't defend his Hamburg title...if Novak wins one of the these two MS titles...

Next two.5 weeks will be very interesting.

  8. I would ... I know it is an important tune up ... but if he aggravates his injury .... the French Open is history

  9. yeah i think he should. besides saving himself from fatigue and his injury getting worse,it would also send a strong message regarding his argument about the scheduling this season. to have the best player on clay withdraw because of over-expending himself, that speaks volumes. i mean,3 b2b masters tourney's is just appalling scheduling.
