This is a repost.. I finally realized that the best way to ask a question without people making all sort of assumptions and go off the topic is just to ask the bloody question. This note is just to explain why i repost this question for the last time.

  1. I say no.

1.) moral terms (this may seem like a cop out)

that kind of violence is not  tolerated by normal society for a reason- its immoral.  its immoral at least on the terms of neccesity.

Even if both individuals were really hardcore and consented most willingly, society has a social obligation to prevent such reckless abandonment.

2.) (hopefully nto a cop out)

What purpose is being achieved? To see who has the best style? Putting everything aside (that's obsolete, that immoral, etc), your advocating a scenerio where two individuals can step into the ring and litterally....litterally....and legally murder each other. The problem with this is simply that society will not condone a sport like that based upon the outlook it will reflect upon the said society. It shows that a society is irresponsible. Thats why the most affluent countries iin the world have banned dueling. Because what you propose is the revival of dueling. IT IS. no matter how your raitionlize it what you are advocating is dueling. Even if it isnt personal. Even if it's not intentional. Its still dueling.

We shouldnt reintroduce them into society because history has shown us that dueling is a shady and legal umbrella used by tact individuals for murder. Socially it is detrimental. And im not prepared to be part of a society that doesnt at LEAST pretend to care about the people who make it up.

I apoligze if everyone thinks this is a sack of a donkey's ball crammed into a microwave.

I hope this helps and thank you.

  2. NO besides it would probably only last for initial re introduction unless you can find a lot of sociopaths who don't mind having an eye or two gouged out or testicals crushed or outright killed .

There are a lot of sociopaths out there but there thing is to do it to others not risk having it done to them.

How about an annual SHOOT OUT AT THE O.K. CORRAL.?

  3. IT NEVER LEFT!!!!! if anything its WORSE now than it's ever been!

    no...its illegal for a reason.

  4. I honestly don't think you will find many takers. I think even if you did, most people would find it very hard to take an eye out or deliberetly break something just to win a sporting fight.

Anybody who would definetly doesn't need to be doing it. i will do whatever is necessary in self defense to survive so I can go home to my family, but could never intentionally hurt someone seriously if that's what it took to win a match.

  5. I really don't think so.  Right now the UFC is doing decently, but MMA is relatively a young sport.  Even if none of the major promoters were to promote no rules barred fighting, it would still end up being associated with MMA, therefore we'd have John McCain trying to shut down the UFC again.  Also, I wasn't a fan of MMA back then, but that Shamrock-Severn fight was terrible (they weren't allowed to punch each other!).  Maybe in 50 years or so, but not now.

  6. yes and no

    yes it should be reintroduced

no it should not be reintroduced.

  7. i mean anyone can fight in a no rules fight in the street but it should be made legal again so we can see the best in the world duke it in on tv!! then we will find out who the real best fighters are

  8. Yeah, but did you really have to post it 4 times?

I don't think it should. Competition should be friendly and promote sportsmanship. No Rules fighting is just barbaric, senseless and extremely pointless. It achieves nothing but pain and misery (in the long term).

You shouldn't let 2 people do something just because they want to. There's a difference between what's desirable and what's moral.

    Ever seen the film 'Fearless'?

  9. Go out on any city street and you will discover that No Rules fighting has always been with us.

Rules are what differentiate a BOUT/SPAR/CONTEST from a FIGHT.

In my book: fight = "no rules"

EDIT: By "no rules" I'm talking about:

If, for the sake of my personal safety, it is necessary for me to dislocate a joint or break a bone; I will not hesitate to do so.
