  1. Yes, unless you want a degeneration of the human race which some A** holes want. Sorry Dana if that's you.

  2. uh huh, maybe nuclear energy is alot cleaner than fossil fuel emissions... but what if there was a nuclear breakdown? MILLIONS of people would be exposed to many diseases like leukemia and other cancers. It would be like chernobyl all over again

  3. No, we need to look elsewhere. Trading one contaminant for another that will last for millennia in the environment is not the answer.

My belief is that the educational system in the US needs to focus on sciences more, and more creative thinking. The answers are going to come from our youth. If we can teach them to think outside the box, instead of stifling their creative thinking, we would have more answers to the problems.

And no, I am not advocating leaving our messes for our children to clean up. I'm just saying that there has to be a better way than just trading pollutants.

  4. Nuclear energy should be expanded in the short term until less polluting alternatives can be developed.  Nuclear energy does not contribute to smog and produces no greenhouse gases (global warming).  However, there are huge problems storing the radioactive waste and nuclear energy has the potential to be extremely dangerous - Three Mile Island incident and the Chernobyl disaster.

  5. Yes, yes, lemme think...yes.  Did I say yes?

  6. Sure. Look at France. They're doing it on a large scale and it's a lot safer now.

  7. I sincerely believe that nuclear energy will be harnessed to a greater degree than it is today due to the ever increasing demand of energy by the growing population and the increasing standards of living in the third world countries.  We have no choice.  All types of energy will be needed to meet demand.

Although many people express concerns on the safety of nuclear power and its radioactive waste, I believe there will be technological (and perhaps political) advancements to improve nuclear safety and handling/disposing of radioactive waste materials.  Why do I believe that?  Necessity is the mother of invention.
