Should Oaklawn put up $5million for Rachel v Zenyatta? Oaklawn Park are prepared to offer $5million if both Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta run in the Apple Blossom Handicap in April. But that’s as much as the Breeders’ Cup Classic so it throws everything else out of balance.

This is probably the best compromise course available to get these two in a race. The owners of Rachel Alexandra will only run her on dirt and Oaklawn is the only dirt course that Zenyatta has run on. As for the money – does it really matter if they actually meet?
