I thought Ozzie should have got the trophy, great series overall, replaced a struggling goalie, heck, he did the job!

  1. ozzie did a great job maybe 2nd in the running to Zett. but Henrik dentally deserved that trophy.

  2. nah i think it was good that zetterberg got it

  3. Only if Detroit had closed out in Game 5.

  4. Osgood was great but didn't get enough shots and wasn't that great in game 5

Zetterberg lead the playoffs in points and scored the game winning goal for Detroit and is a two way defencive and offencive player.Zetterberg won the game 4 fore Detroit wen there was a 5 on 3 late in the game too.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk were the heart and sole for Detroit

  5. Ozzie did a good job but zetterberg deserved it more.

  6. Nah.  I absolutely love Ozzie, but Zetterberg lead the league in playoff goals and points, and his amazing defensive play played a HUGE role in keeping Crosby and Malkin off the score sheet.

  7. Ozzie did well in spite of starting as backup.  Did he deserve the Conn Smythe?  Absolutely.  But the problem is the fact that he was not the only one who did well enough to earn that trophy.  He, Zetterberg, and Lindstrom did so well in the playoffs that any one of them could have gotten it.  Zetterberg should have gotten it however because of a few reasons.

    1. He led the team in points.  He was part of a dynamite line and was able to cause not only chances, but gave himself and his linemates wonderful scoring oppurtunities.

    2. His defensive play.  As a nominee for the Selke, he showed even more of it come playoff time.  One thing that made Detroit's style of play (puck possesion) great was the fact that guys like Hank were able to get back and minimize the time the other team had the puck.

    3. His penalty killing.  After the two 5-3 advantages Pittsburgh had, and his shorthanded goals, he was shown to be the best.  Sidney Crosby had a golden oppurtunity to tie up the game in game 4, but Zetterberg, knowing that he would be getting the puck, kept him from moving his stick, saving the game tying goal.

Osgood was very good, and if Zetterberg hadn't done as well as he had, he would have been my choice of MVP.  Started as a backup, and was able to post only 4 losses and 14 wins.  Wonderful post-season performance by him.

  8. Defnitly not he only seems good because he got so few shots on goal, flurey was playing much better then him, he is good but zetterberg is better

  9. No. Osgood was as good as he needed to be, but not spectacular. IMO, coaching and defence won it for the wings. Babcock had a great game plan, got the guys to buy into it, and they executed it perfectly. The stellar goaltending was mostly at the other end of the rink.

  10. I don't think Hank was a bad choice but if Hasek would have continued to be the goalie I strongly feel the wings would not have one the cup.  I thought for sure that it would have gone to Ozzie, but am totally fine with it going to Hank.  Just happy the Wings won the cup again!

  11. I actually thought he would be getting the Smythe too (goalie bias), after posting only, what, 3 or 4 losses? But then again, Detroit's defensive system helped him out so he had support. Zetterberg posted up some impressive numbers too.

  12. You mean the Conn Smythe? No, Zetterberg deserved it. Osgood's save percentage for the Pens series (.932) was impressive, but not as impressive as Zetterberg on the penalty kill.

  13. I think it should have gone to Lidstrom. Lidstrom makes the Red WIngs great. Without Lidstrom, the Wings would have at least 10 fewer wins and wouldn't be Stanley Cup champs.

  14. no, i think zetterberg deserves it
