Question:

Should Palin's background be of interest to the electorate?

The GOP has apperantly lashed out at the media for looking into her "background and family." I can see a reason to keep her family off the media wires, but her background? Doesn't her past give us the best insight into who she is as a potential leader of this country?

  1. I think so.  Having an America-hating, fascist president for the past 8 years hasn't been much fun for me, or I suspect for the 90% of Americans who have been getting screwed, but have no political voice.  Our entire species and many others as well will be hitting several brick walls very soon: economic, environmental, military...etc.  I'd rather see the U.S. with a president and v.p. who will step on the brakes, not the gas ala Bush.  Not knowing who our v.p. (and likely future president) is or what she might do in office doesn't strike me as a good idea at all

  2. The media is out to destroy this woman the same way they destroy every other true conservative in the party.  That is their jobs in their minds.

  3. You guess it, we can't have some Alaskan Bimbo running this country we would get nuked for sure..

  4. Sarah Palin posed for the cover of US magazine with her new son. She is putting herself out there. The GOP only wants you to stop talking unfavorably about her families problems, but - they'll happily drag out the family to spout out the families extreme right views. They can not have it both ways.

And yes, her past does give us insight into how she leads and outside of her crazy family she has a c**p load of political scandals brewing. She is being investigated for abuse of power. That's huge. Not to mention, all of the pork she recieved for her state all while saying she is a reformer. And just for good measure, she threatened the librarian when she was mayor because she refised to BAN BOOKS that Palin did not like because they had "bad words" in them.

Those issues really talk to her character.

But, we really should be talking about the thought process McCain when he decided to put her on the ticket as the number 2. He put politics ahead of country. That is dispicable.

  5. When they become eligible they should all run for office and beat the Kennedys

  6. Of course.  If they hadn't made such a last minute pick...most of this stuff would be old news now.  I agree that 99% of the family stuff has nothing to do with her politics or her abilities.
