Should Police be allowed to do traffic patrol and give traffic tickets in unmarked vehicles?

Because people only slow down once they see a police cruiser on the side of the road ready to go. What if police cars could look like regular cars and let's say some guy speeds past one...then the traffic officer can put the sirens on and pull them over. That's really the only effective way to catch dangerous drivers. You can't let them know you're watching. Then, the fear of anyone being a police car would encourage all other drivers to observe traffic laws. It would be for the greater good. Besides, police already do work in unmarked cars when they do undercover vehicles.

  1. Hence why buy ex police car (crown vic) ppl are scared of this car and will drive probably when they see it and give you way never cut in ect...It's Fantastic.

  2. Here in NY the governer said if an unmarked police car tries to stop you, you should call 911 on your cell phone, if you have one, and proceed to the nearest police station. This is due to the fact that there have been many imposters trying to pull people over and rob them.

  3. It's sneaky but I have no problem with it but one aspect is this, (and it happened here in New Mexico) is ******* putting lights in the grill, stopping women alone and assaulting them.No killings thank goodness but the police were ultra touchy for quite a while statewide.

If you doubt the unmarked is genuine do not stop in secluded areas, drive normally to nearest populated area and stop when it is safe.If a genuine officer sees that you are not 'running' he will note your attitude as you safely continue on to a safer area to stop,he may think you're silly but he'll respect your apprehension, especially you women drivers.

  4. They do now, but I would not stop for an unmarked police car. Any idiot with a late-model Ford Crown Victoria can play cop with a blinking WalMart hazard light in the back window. The rule of thumb is to drive to a well-lighted area with lots of people, or better yet, a police station, and call 911. That way, the rapist at the wheel of the "police car" has less of a chance of assaulting you.

  5. No because this encourages police impersonators.

  6. no i don' t think this should be aloud.. alot  of people will try to impersonate them and there have been women raped and people been robbed by this... delaware has unmarked cars and often do pull people over.

  7. I don't know where you live but where I live they do use unmarked cars for traffic
