Should Portland trade for Allen Iverson????

He has a contract thats about to end plus Portland also has Lafrentze's contract thats about to end (12.3 Million + 20 million)

That would give Portland cap room plus it would give Denver some good young players to build around depending on who Portland sends.

    What about Roy, who plays the same position...

    Denver is dumping Cap, and The Blazers dont have enough cap space to make a difference

  3. Not at all. Why would you want to put an older player that is going to want the ball just as much as Roy on such a young developing team? Give them time to develop and after a couple of years (because you have the time) to decide if you should go after a player that's been around.

    Don't get me wrong. AI is great player. He single handedly took the Sixers to the finals against the Lakers. Year after year he is a leader in mins played and leaves his heart and soul on the court, BUT Portland is so young and has so much time to develop.

    Look at the Lakers 3 years ago. Everyone said that they are young and you need to give them time. Look what happened. You have a young Bynum he is starting to blossom and they had a player that they were hoping would develop and never did in Kwame and they traded him to team that was looking to dump salary in Pau Gasol.

    Give Portland 2-3 years to see what they need and then make decision. It's too early too make a bold move like that.

    For the record, I love AI.

  4. they really dont need to. portland is building for the future and iverson is aging. This team should be on top in a few years.

    if this trade were to happen, i could imagine denver asking for someone like brandon roy. no way will portland trade him.
