  1. Yes it should be. Pot has been around for many years and it is very popular. Should be made legal and taxed.

  2. I see no reason why it is not. Alcohol has killed more people each year than we can imagine and it is perfectly legal. You do not get sick from pot. you can't OD on pot. It helps you relax and it is harmless. The worst is a bad case of the munchies. I do not think it will ever be legalized in the US, put it would be nice.

Can you imagine going to the 7-11 and asking for a quarter of weed, it just sounds crazy.

  3. Sure I'll post this again

    Yes, certainly for adults.

First on principle, I think people should generally be free to do what they want, within reason. Pot's a minor vice, certainly no worse than alcohol, tobacco, gambling or ice cream.

Second, the nation spends a huge amount of money trying to interdict the trade. That money could be saved. Those cop resources could be used to help control things like murder, rape and robbery.

Third, legalizing marijuana would deny a huge source of income to organized crime, both in the US and in latin america (where organized crime is sometimes a real competitor and threat to local government).

Fourth, legal marijuana would produce a huge new commercial opportunity in this country, which the country could certainly use.

And finally, sales of the stuff could be taxed, to help support local government.

There's no good reason to keep it illegal.

  4. Yes. i'm tired of all the commercials and everybody against "drugs" marijuna is only a drug on paper. it is in no way a drug. a drug is meth, crack, coke, heroine, PCP etc.. marijuana is a plant that is no way worse then Salvia Divinorium or h**l the plants in the neighbors garden next door. all it does it make you feel a little dizzy and if you smoke a lot of it then you wont be able to move anyway. people are smart enough to limit themselves. marijuana has never been known to cause an overdose, an addiction to the marijuana itself or kill anybody. alcohol on the other hand is killing millions of people per year due to poisoning and DUI related deaths. actually i think i see more commercials about tobacco companies and how marijuana ruins your life more then not to drink and drive.

Edit: wow whoever said that **** above me about the little girl that died from eating weed is a retarded ******** hah. unless the weed was laced with PCP or meth or any other serious drug that story is totally made up to scare you or for that person to try n look cool. if people could die from eating weed then don't you think Amsterdam would still sell hash brownies or space cake.

ANOTHER edit: for the person below who said all that "scientific" information.. why didn't you put any article URL's? seriously i wanna see where you get this information from because if those are all the "facts" then how the h**l can you explain SCIENTISTS the same people that "gave" you those facts, want to make it legal for medicinal use? dumbass..  sure its gonna hurt your lungs what smoke doesn't, but thats why you smoke it out of a vaporizer, if marijuana was completely legal and everybody smoked it out of a vaporizer everyone would be happy.

  5. Marijuana is gonna hve its pros and cons just like anything else. The pot smokers are of course for it and the non pot smokers are for the most part against it(usually the people who have not tried it or have had a bad experience with it). I say in this case, let the people decide, If it were to become legal though, it should certainly be for adults 18 years and older. I do not partake in pot anymore, but when I did, I had good grades in school a good job and good friends. Pot does not make you loose a job or get bad grades as others would say. I am very successful thank you very much.

  6. Lol, no.

    I take you smoke marijuana?

Marijuana is not safe and should NOT be legalized.

Smoking marijuana regularly (a joint a day) can damage the cells in the bronchial passages which protect the body against inhaled microorganisms and decrease the ability of the immune cells in the lungs to fight off fungi, bacteria, and tumor cells. For patients with already weakened immune systems, this means an increase in the possibility of dangerous pulmonary infections, including pneumonia, which often proves fatal in AIDS patients.

Although cannabis contains at least 400 different chemicals, its main mind-altering ingredient is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol).The amount of THC in marijuana determines the drug’s strength, and THC levels are affected by a great many factors, including plant type, weather, soil, and time of harvest. Sophisticated cannabis cultivation of today produces high levels of THC and marijuana that is far more potent than pot of the past. THC content of marijuana, which averaged less than 1 percent in 1974, rose to an average 4 percent by 1994.

Furthermore, cannabis can cause dry mouth and throat, increased heart rate, impaired coordination and balance, delayed reaction time, and diminished short-term memory. Moderate doses tend to induce a sense of well-being and a dreamy state of relaxation that encourages fantasies, renders some users highly suggestible, and distorts perception (making it dangerous to operate machinery, drive a car or boat, or ride a bicycle). Stronger doses prompt more intense and often disturbing reactions including paranoia and hallucinations.

And most of marijuana’s short-term effects wear off within two or three hours. The drug itself, however, tends to linger on. THC is a fat-soluble substance and will accumulate in fatty tissues in the liver, lungs, testes, and other organs. Two days after smoking marijuana, one-quarter of the THC content may still be retained. It will show up in urine tests three days after use, and traces may be picked up by sensitive blood tests two to four weeks later.

Marijuana use reduces learning ability. Research has been piling up of late demonstrating clearly that marijuana limits the capacity to absorb and retain information. A 1995 study of college students discovered that the inability of heavy marijuana users to focus, sustain attention, and organize data persists for as long as 24 hours after their last use of the drug. Earlier research, comparing cognitive abilities of adult marijuana users with non-using adults, found that users fall short on memory as well as math and verbal skills. Although it has yet to be proven conclusively that heavy marijuana use can cause irreversible loss of intellectual capacity, animal studies have shown marijuana-induced structural damage to portions of the brain essential to memory and learning.

  7. I believe it should only be legalized in medical terms. they have marjona (sorry about spelling) legalized in some states for medical reasons and that is the only way pot should be legalized.

one reason it shouldn't be because my neighbor who is 13 years old smokes pot and her parents didn't know about it at first. when she was gone at school, her little sister, 5 years old, went into her room and started to stuff it in her mouth, she got very ill and died later that day.

there are soo many other reasons i can tell you why it should stay being illegal but the only way it should be legal is in medical terms

  8. Yes because the medical benefits are amazing and helpful.

Marijuana smoking does not increase a person's risk of developing lung cancer, according to the findings of a new study at the University of California Los Angeles that surprised even the researchers.

They had expected to find that a history of heavy marijuana use, like cigarette smoking, would increase the risk of cancer.

Instead, the study, which compared the lifestyles of 611 Los Angeles County lung cancer patients and 601 patients with head and neck cancers with those of 1,040 people without cancer, found no elevated cancer risk for even the heaviest pot smokers. It did find a 20-fold increased risk of lung cancer in people who smoked two or more packs of cigarettes a day.

The study results were presented in San Diego Tuesday at a meeting of the American Thoracic Society

They just can't honestly says its bad for you. No one has ever died from lung cancer from pot.

  9. Yes I think weed should be legalized.  There are several medical uses for weed.  Besides alcohol is legal and there are several different illnesses that are caused by drinking.  How many are linked to smoking weed

  10. Yes it should, personally I think that cocaine, heroine, meth, all of that, should be legalized. Now I am not a druggie, but a large part of our crime is because of drugs. legalizing it would lower crime alot; And if you were dumb enough to have your entire body messed up because of drug abuse, its your won dang fault.

Also, weed is a very safe drug, it's even better for you then alcohol and cigarettes. Notice how the "Above the Influence" commercials never give any actual facts about it? They just say "It changes you!" "It's bad!" "People will run your life" So why does this all happen? They don't give any reasons. Plus, it's been proven to actually help GROW braincells! And Hemp (the plant that weed is made from) is a very useful material, it can make rope, clothing, lots of things.

Also, I see what u did thar.
