  1. most certainly federer has virtually no chance of winning the olympic Gold in singles.... for all we know he could be retired by then.. very likely!

even his next bid for the french open next year in 2009... i am doubtfull he will even capture that,.. if he has never managed to win it, playing at his top leveal then he will not win it when he is on the decline.. even if nadal gets ousted out... there will be another clay court player that is very amped and take federer out...

i really do see federer ever winning there.. sort of like the way justine henin never managed to win wimbledon.. could have been, fate, karma, not meant to be...

  2. Well nothing is impossible.......;)

  3. He could still win the french opne, but it's unlikely unless Nadal gets injured or something (but that could well happen, because he puts so much stress on his body)

It's very unlikely he'll win an olympic gold, even though he's good enough at the moment, in 4 years he'll be well past his prime. It's not impossible though.

I really want him to win at Rolland Garros and beat Sampras' grand slam record. Then we can safely call him the best player of all time.

IMO he deserves that recognition, because i think he truely is the greatest player to have graced this planet.

  4. forget it

  5. Nadal's just too good on clay, and by 2012, Federer will be 31?

He's still got great chances of winning more Wimbledon, Australian Open and US Open tournaments.

    Go Roger!

  6. He should forget about the Olympic Gold for sure. When he'll play in London he'll be 31, and the younger players will have a stronger chance of winning the Gold. Hard court's all about energy and moving well, so I don't think Federer can win.

As for the French, as long as Nadal's alive, Federer's in for some REALLY tough competition. But he's made it to the previous three finals so he has been the strongest contender. He shouldn't forget about winning the title.. Maybe he could get lucky!

But I think he'll be like Sampras. A legend who's won every Slam except the French.
