Ryan Shawcross may not have intended to inflict so much damage to Ramsey’s leg, but he must learn that these types of challenges are unacceptable in football. In 2007, he broke Francis Jeffers’ ankle with a similarly reckless challenge and should have been banned for longer than three matches to clearly hammer home the message.
