"Based on the evidence, somebody tried to take advantage of him and he was naive. I feel very sad about the whole situation. If somebody deliberately gets involved with match- fixing and giving out information I can see it is a mandatory two-year ban. But if somebody naively befriends somebody, I don't think he should suffer these consequences."

do you agree with this statement? can somebody naievly get pushed into match fixing?

  1. yes

  2. If he is so naive, did he got him mom's permission before leaving West Indies to tour all the way to the India?

  3. no

  4. Oh please! He is 27, not 2! He would have been warned of this when he got into big-time cricket. He did the crime, let him do the time.

  5. Poor chap, he's left holding the can.  And now the cricketing world can rest in peace that justice is done.

But such is life, brutally unfair.

  6. I do not agree with that statement.  There should not be any leniency in his case.

  7. it is hard but now cant change he already banned.

  8. It is hard for me believe that Samuels was naive and someone

else taking advantage of it. There are many many international

and local players who are involved in fixing matches; but it is

hard to prove the fact. This is not the first time he is in the

newsvfor match fixing. Players who get caught should be

banned for life - 2 year is piece of cake.

Every sport has this issue - match fixing. People involved are

in high level officials and it is hard for police and other agency

to catch those offenders - let alone proving them. We have

seen this in boxing, soccer, cricket, tennis and other sports

    as well.

The ones who got banned for life - I strongly believe were

    made the scape goats.
