Should Sarah Palin's children be off-limits in the campaign?

Can Obama really criticize her pregnant teenage daughter when his own mother was an unwed pregnant teenager herself? Should her choice to have a Downs Syndrome baby be called into question? Or is it all just politics as usual?

Hey, just for the record OBAMA himself said the family is off limits... not like McCain, who made fun of Chelsea Clinton's looks when she was living in the White House.  As far as I can tell, Obama hasn't criticized her pregnant teenage daughter, unless you have a link for that, hmmmm?  didn't think so

Obama hasn't said word one except to say families should be out of range.

Shes been praised for having that special needs child. Her daughter has 'the love and support of her parents' and is keeping the baby.

The thing that gets me, is that if she weren't a Republican we would be innundated with outrage over the loose morals and the "what do you expect' from the right.  Not to mention the angst at the thought of what a DS child costs in the way of special ed, or the seventeen year old who would have to drop out and go on wefare which would cost them money.

I think I finally have it figured out, its not morals they are worried about, its money, you got it, you can have a dozen babies, in fact, they insist.

Since they want to make that policy, then it is up for public discussion.

If Palin wanted to keep it private, she should have refused the VP position.  No one would have cared if the governor of Alaskas daughter was pregnant out of wedlock, but as a national figure everything comes under scrutiny. Especially as she has chosen a high profile in matters of reproductive rights.

The opposing party (Dems) has never said anything about these issues. It appears that YOU are making it political for trying to make an issue of it and then blaming it on the Dems. Obama isn't doing the criticizing, but his idiot supporters certainly are.  I am glad he had the stones to condemn this kind of garbage, but it is sad to see he isn't willing to take it a step further by going after the smear merchants at the DailyKos and MoveOn.org.

Personally, I like that the libs are using the same kinds of underhanded tactics that Hillary Clinton tried.  Hopefully, it will have the same result - that result being Obama's defeat.

He DIDN'T criticize her pregnant teen!!!!!!!!!! In fact, he was the one who said that families should be off limits, knowing that he, himself was born to a single parent  - but that's HIS PHILOSOPHY.  I believe that the families are not off limits.  When you throw your hat into the ring for this job - you have made your family an open target for anyone who wants to take a shot.  If you have not been successful in teaching your teens about s*x and pregnancies, wanted or unwanted, then you have to prepare yourself because in the world that we live in - the press will eat you alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's what they live for.  They will follow this girl and all she does until the end!!!!!!!!!!!  It's enough seed to make or break the candidacy if you ask me.  

Furthermore, I wonder what Palin is going to do when she has to be somewhere that McCain wants her and her Downs Syndrome child needs the mother?  Will she flip the country off and take care of her child or what?  This woman has too many issues to even participate in this race.   Personally, I think she will back out before it's all over.  The press will see to that.  They are going to dig up all the dirt they can find on her and destroy her!
