Question:

Should Scheider International be required to use there hazard warning lights?

Management has decided to reduce the speed of there semi- tractors to 60 m.p.h. In states where the speed limit is 70 and drivers will be going 75 or better, these trucks going 60 will be a safety problem unless they are required to use there hazard lights, don't you think?

  1. If people need trucks running hazard flashers at 60 mph to see that they are slower than the rest of the traffic, there's a problem with the other drivers, not with the trucks. A 10-15 mph speed difference on the highway isn't that much.

RANT: People ***** about trucks going too fast and being a safety hazard, then ***** even more when they slow down.

  2. Normally I would agree with you, but I am a commercial driver and drive for another company that recently slowed us down to 62. I thought as you did at first, but then I talked to some of the drivers from my old company and they have been slowed down also.

Even at 62mph I am not getting passed by as fast as I used to. All major companies are slowing down and O/O's seem to be passing me at a slower speed lately as well.

I know my fuel avg. went from 6.8 up to 8.4 by slowing down only 3 mph.

If fuel prices keep climbing and the powers that be don't get in gear with rates and fuel surcharges, don't be suprised if the fastest semi on the highway is going 65mph.

  3. well there not burning up the road now at 65 so whats another 5mph at least walmart and jb hunt can pass them lol good luck

  4. You are not required to use hazard flashers unless you are below 45 mph !

  5. we have problems here, they think they rule the road, but we have three lanes in states its 5, so one lane should be given to them to use, at their speed, we are not allowed to use mobile phones in england while we drive, instant 6 points, + prison sentence,  soon if your talking on a mobile phone, while crossing the road you will be fined £50, does those two things leave you in awe.

  6. no with all the lights and reflectors on the trailer if you can't see it you should not be going t.hat fast
