Question:

Should She be Gaining Weight or Losing it?

I have a friend who lives like this and I'm wondering if she is losing or gaining weight...

She goes to sleep REALLY late,

wakes up at about 2 in the AFTERNOON,

has a small breakfast: like half a cup of dry cereal and a glass of OJ

then works out for like an hour [at the gym usually]

comes back and snacks on a little fruit [an apple or like a few grapes]

then nothing until dinner, where she has a small and healthy dinner, mainly veggies with like very little else.

Then she'll usually have a small and lowcalorie dessert

and then stays up doing nothing until really late and then starts the day over again.

There's no way she's getting 1200 calories in and she still exercises so I'm not sure if she is losing or gaining weight?

  1. Well..if that's all she is eating she is losing...losing lots of muscle.  This is unhealthy and she may appear smaller later on but she won't be very tight or tone.  Has she been doing this a long time or is this something she just started?  It's a very bad diet.  I would be a friend to her and ask her to stop and tell her how unhealthy her diet is.

  2. i dont see how she would gain weight if she's cutting her calories and working out. going to bed late and waking up late doesn't necessarily mean you're unhealthy

  3. When you are not eating enough calories your body can go into starvation mode and prevent you from losing weight.
