  1. i shoould say that both economic status and caste should be considered.

    some say caste is a 20th cetury factor but certainly not .It is a factor in this illiterate india.let everybody LIVE


  2. Social backwardness, while not relative, seems to me to be directly related to how traditions/religion impact on education.

    I'm not entirely sure how it would be categorised, how for example would you categorise people who in all other aspects live a socially forward life, yet subscribe to something so backwards as creationism?

  3. dont economics and caste go hand in hand? im thinking of the poor country folk in say Tennessee, these folks are so socially backwards, and it stems from their economic status, which comes from their lack of education- which determines their place in a "caste"
