  1. he broke his contract.  That in any industry is a no-no.

However, how many of us would give up our jobs for more money?  And I was reading yesterday that when he (if he) eventually gets there he will have a car of his own - sorted. A mobile of his own - sorted. A house of his own - sorted...and even a fridge full of food. Who could pass that!

I'm sick of people saying the bulldogs made SBW. I'm not a bulldogs fan or SBW fan...but I know that SBW in fact made the bulldogs. He was a good player before he played for them.

  2. I thought Sonny was Skippy's best mate and played in the bush, not rugby!

  3. To play NRL.. no!

  4. well if mark gaznier can walk off so can sbw but it is stupid

  5. Of course he should and he will, he is entitled to make a living

  6. he should get a 2 year ban then come back

  7. no but if he wants to come to manly hes more than welcome :)

  8. dont think he will ever play nrl again its a shame because he is a good player but i think even if he had a chance to come back no nrl side would sign him because of the way he left the dogs. would hate to see the nrl make him come back and bench him for the next 4 years its unfair on the dogs both with the club and the fans, because the club will be down 450000 a year witch they could use to sign another player and im pretty sure no bulldogs fan wants to see him in the blue and white ever again. will probably go to super league if rugby fails (thats if the nrl let him!!!)

  9. yes.

Whether he WILL play again is another matter...

  10. unfortunately for sonny bill, his contract did not have a 'get out' clause like mark gasniers did, meaning he is in breach of his contract because he nicked off.

chances of legal action by the NRL being successful are highly likely. from there i see two possible scenarios,

first being that sonny bill is legally obliged to stay out his contract with the bulldogs until his contract expires or is re-negotiated.

second: Gallop could try send a harsh message to other players thinking of leaving their teams by attempting to obtain a court ordered suspension from sonny bill playing professionally ever again.

i would place my bet on the first scenario or something in between the two, although contract has been breached public pressure could indeed stop gallop from banning such a gifted player for life.
