Do you think that the full time Sprint drivers should be banned from the Nationwide series--I mean we all no one of them will win every week and it gives the regulars in that series on chance to win or get better sponsers

  1. Yes  Should be like baseball The minors develops the big leagues or if needed helps them when in a slump but they cannot be in both.

  2. I agree with many of the answers above, when the top Nationwide-caliber driver comes in 9th week after week there is something wrong with the series. The main problem, however, is lack of funds to support a Nationwide car. Sponsors like the name recognition of a Sprint driver and are less excited about giving money to a hopefull-but-unkown driver. And the defection of large sponsors from Nascar as a whole trickles down to the Nationwide teams.

I always thought it was a bit unfair to allow the Sprint drivers to have extra practice time during the Nationwide races (though this is less relevant with the C.O.T. being vastly different than the Nationwide car).

  3. I think they should be banned. Professional ball players don't go back to the minors and play unless they are injured or they suck.

  4. Absolutly! Its isn't fair for these up and coming drivers that Sprint Cup regulars are constantly overshadowing them. A Nationwide driver probably isn't even going to win their championship this year and thats just ridiculous!!!!

  5. maybe not banned but definitely limited because the new drivers dont get to really have a chance to race... the cup series are intruding on the new drivers chances to race and win... i think that they should all run like junior does 3-5 races and that is it

  6. That is something that I have been harping on for years,,,,,The Nationwide series should be like the minor leagues in baseball; I do not think that the Cup guys should be allowed to drive in both.............Very good question!!

  7. I don't think the drivers should be banned, maybe limited to the number of races they can run and/or not be granted the full purse for their finishing position. Nationwide teams struggle as it is to stay in the black. When full time Cup drivers always win it hurts those Nationwide only teams financially. So if Nascar could come up with a system to ensure the Nationwide only teams would not be hurt in the wallet because of more experienced full time Cup drivers always winning then it really shouldn't matter who races and when. I enjoy watching Nationwide races and for the sake of the sport this series needs to look after the lesser funded teams. This series has a great mix of young kids, current Cup guys and regular Nationwide drivers.

  8. I don't think they should be able to be a champion of the Nationwide series but I don't see anything wrong with letting the Nationwide drivers see how they stack up to a Sprint cup driver. I think the Sprint cup drivers help the Nationwides' t.v. ratings and therefore makes more sponsors want to get involved it the series.

  9. No, if they werent driving they would have to fill them with much less talented drivers and the quality of racing would go down.

I remember last year a race that David Reutimann won a race where there were only like 3 cup drivers in the race and there was a record amount of cautions and the race ran like an hour plus long, it was the worst racing i think the longest green flag run was like 4 min. it was pathetic...

plus the stars running bring more ticket sales and more TV viewership so Nascar not going to risk that

  10. I think the Cup drivers should only be able to run half of the races. They can select 18 races and run them, no matter which track it is or how many other Cup drivers are entered. That way, a Nationwide-only driver would win the championship and most-likely the top 10 would be all Nationwide-only drivers, so they could collect the majority of the prize money at the end of the year.

  11. i think they should be allowed 10 races per season

  12. they shouldnt be banned from nation wide racing but they shoulnt be allowed to run a whole season i mean who (except for the driver) would want one person to claim two championships in one year thats like cheating some younger  less experienced driver from, winning a nation wide championship

  13. It's hard to choose but I say let them, cause no one would watch the Nationwide races if it where just the inexperienced drivers that drove, fans (like me) want to see Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer etc. race.

  14. i agree they should be able to run maybe up to 18 races so they cant be a champion, without sprint cup drivers in the races i dont think the races would be as entertaining but it does help some of those guys race better when you see a guy like brad kesoloski sitting in 2nd in points, when he has like 6 other sprint cup guys up there as well but itll be bad if he dosent win the chamipionship because he is the highest nationwide driver right now in points and for a sprint cup driver to win it just not helping these younger guys accomplish much when they cant even go for the championship

  15. it takes away from the younger guys trying to come up. They don't have the oppertunity to drive, for team owners are filling the seats with cup guys. Logano was doing fantastic, but then he was replaced a couple weeks with a cup guy. How is Logano, 18 yr old, probably going into cup next year going to get enough practice without racing in nationwide. hes not!

  16. yes, only let them race like 1 or 2 races a season, because that series is for developing drivers, let them race each other and not have to race the "big boys" until they earn it. Plus it gets on my nerve when Cup guys race in the Nationwide series and then get wrecked and tell the Nationwide guys to stay out of their way *cough* Denny Hamlin *cough* =)
