  1. Right now I am in an online class and I am using my i-pod. LOL I think we should because some people work better when they listen to music. They tune out everybody else, it works for me!

  2. NO WAY!  How could they add to the educational experience?

  3. No they should not.  This is why, they are a distraction to the person who is not using one.  This is because; lets say you are listening to you music, the person next to you who is not will hear the high pitch of the music but not well enough to understand, so to them it is the buzz of noise hence a distraction.

I would say yes only if no sound was heard outside a two foot radius.  And if any thing was heard you have one chance to turn it down, the second warning is to turn it off.

  4. it depends on the subject. if it is a subject where the students need to pay attention , like science or maths, then it is not so good. However, subjects like art or design and technology  then it is a more creative environment in which music can be helpful to some people.

  5. Hmm..good questions..Other than having Phones in class and Gameboys.

I think in a way the students should ..on my behalf I never tok one just to not get a crazy referall.

But I had noticed that a lot of my fellow students did/performed better in homework or class listening to music.

Many times..we wait in class or have long boring brakes...

I think YES they should have Ipods but with a few restrictions of when to use it!

  6. No.  School is for learning.  Home is for everything else that you want to do, while not in school.

  7. No, it interferes with the learning process.

  8. No, if you allow them to use MP3 players and ipods in class, they usually assume they can use it whenever they want. Most students are not mature enough to realize when they need to put it away and when it can be used. It saves the arguement and hassel if they are simply not allowed.

  9. No.. What would be the point in sitting through the class if youre going to be too busy listening to music instead or the teacher or professor?

Maybe during class work or something but for sure not during a lecture..

  10. I don't think they should be able to. A lot of kids do during study halls though or at the library. That seems fine except when you can hear their music and now it distracts you.

  11. What would you be using the IPOD for in class?  If it's simply for enjoyment then NO!  It's NOT necessary- the teacher is there to teach you and you need to focus and be sharp to learn the material... NOT using your IPOD  that's what lunch break and afterschool are for- I would re-think your debate....

  12. No, you will not be paying attention in class. Plus school is not a place to listen to music on ipods, it is a learning enviroment and no electrionic distractions should be allowed.

  13. No. Its interfering and defeats the purpose of school which is discipline. And it is distractive for those who do not want to use it...

  14. If its class work and you're doing individual work then yh because I and a lot of other people in my class find it easier to just sit with their headphones in and do a lot more work than usual.

Also people are a lot more focused as they can't hear distractions or won't want to talk as they are listening to music.

  15. yeah i think they should i mean teachers get to listen to the radio
