Should TB racing be outlawed.?

I wouldn't watch the Kentucky Derby because I've worked on the track and know the cocktails of drugs the horses are given to make them run - even when they can hardly stand from injuries. Guess harness racing is no different. And now a courageous filly broke two ankes and had to be euthanized.

Wonder what cocktail of steroids and hormones she was fed from a foal. Did she know her dam. Many foals are taken from their dams at birth and given to a draft mare to raise since the mare's milk is richer. Of course the draft mare foals are throwaways. Enough! Enough! Enough!

  1. Maybe not outlaw the sport but change the running rules.  The horses need to be finished developing their leg bones before they hit the tracks.  A bunch of rules need to be changed in the sport.

  2. If they did outlaw racing, what would Thoroughbreds be used for? That is what they are bred for, running.

  3. You are full of c**p. Just trying to incite people who don't know anything about horse racing.

  4. I'm with you Ava...I too spent many years on the track...the public sees the glory of the Derby but never sees the cheap claimers who move from barn to barn...trying to keep them sound enough (they will never be sound) to race....Eight Belles breakdown sickened me today....
