  1. Ah yes but would you be aware how "comfy" lil-lets are for example when compared to tampax if they did not demonstrate their unique design on TV?

In any market where there is a choice of product, there should be advertising. I don't know about the rest of the UK but when I was at school they gave us out tampax in "that talk" and I personally think they are c**p.

Lol, not a tea-time though, that and frigging tena lady and scented panty liners when you're eating your fish pie!! lol

    edit:

Tiny Clanger, the mooncup was discussed in my office at length once, I am pleased I've never been traumatised by an ad for it though!

  2. I don't see a problem with it after all they also advertise constipation and diarrhoea tablets at at tea time do you have more or less of a problem with that.

  3. lol your right there no matter what women are going to buy them but when something is advertised and you remember it if you see it in a shop you will atomatically buy it.

But i really dont think they need to be advertised , we know what they do  and what there for they all work the same so stop advertising them .

  4. Not without nude models.

  5. Of course people will still buy and use them, but they might not be aware of the latest 'winged' brand, the newest 'discreet' holding pouch, or the most technologically advanced scented douche.  They are advertised so that we can be sold more, newer, better, tampons and pads and be encouraged to consider ourselves faintly grubby and in need of something more hygienic.

EDIT - Cranberry, I hadn't even thought about that; but would a small cup of blue liquid really be that traumatic?

  6. What?  What is wrong with ****** f***y?!

    Its 2008 FFS!!!!!

  7. why not? I have to hear about men's erectile dysfunction medication all through the news hours, why is it so bad that men have to hear about feminine hygiene products? Its not like they show women putting them in or anything.

you are right saying that women will still continue to buy hygiene products if they are not advertised, but that advertisement makes them want to buy the new/improved models that they might not unless they see that advertising.

again, there is no problem with advertising feminine hygiene products on television.

  8. Why shouldn't they?  I'm confused.  Do you find toiletries offensive?

EDIT:  You could say the same for any product which has several competing brands.  I mean, whether I see a labrador puppy running with a length of bogroll in it's mouth, or a bear going behind a tree - I'm still gonna need to buy paper to wipe away my butt nuggets.

  9. get over it lol

  10. no they shouldn't, like we need reminding.

  11. The point of advertising is not so much to persuade you to buy an item, but to buy a particular brand of that item as opposed to a rival brand.

  12. Every woman blobs. People need to get over it.

EDIT: Oh, well in that case in theory no, but advertising is about competition, and brands need to advertise in order to sell themselves. i.e. Bodyform vs Always.

What bothers me is Tena lady. Seriously I don't think people who p**s themselves need reminding.

  13. As long as they advertise with full graphic user instructions......Well i would hate to think that some-one might install in the wrong entrance.......

  14. Does 'Ford' NEED to advertise? Everyone knows that Ford is a make of car and most know where their local dealer is.

Every product has a right to be marketed. I saw a very tasteful advertisement for tampons right around tea-time yesterday. It was just a pencil drawing flowers and it drew one tampon, but a child wouldn't have a clue what the advert was about. It was so discreet in fact that I hardly knew what was being advertised.

  15. How owuld you find out if they have wings or not, or how comfortable the applicator is, trial and error?  That's not on.

I however am not keen on the Douche ads though,

"Mom, sometimes I just don't feel fresh, even after a shower"

    uugghhh!

  16. They know you're going to have to buy them. They are trying to sell you THEIR product and don't want you to buy their competitors product.

  17. I wana know why women need to be the ones advertising stool softeners, trapped wind relief, diaroeah medicine, incontenance pads  and piles cream, obviously it is only women who have periods but it doesn't paint a nice picture of the female of the species when we are advertised having all of these "excretion" issues!

What they dont need to be advertising is VAGISIL, "If you have an itchy minge, use vagisil", now that does put me off my dinner!!!!!!!

  18. Yes and No. Little kids wouldn't understand. Women already know about the tampon brands. nothing different.

  19. Why not?  Viagra is.  Personally, I am not swayed one way or the other by any commercial on TV as I mute them all.

  20. why not

  21. Why not???  But why is anything banned from advertising.

They are part of life, Just as much as Mcdonalds and Marks and Spencers.

Durex and Mates should get in on the act also.

  22. I was a teenager when they were first advertised before then they were not allowed too. I'm 36.

  23. Don't see the problem. Razors for men and women are also advertised does that cause offence.

  24. They totally should. It is great for young women as when they use them they can be great at.... Horseriding, swimming, riding bikes, parachuting, boxing, aerobics...............................

  25. Of course they bloody should!

N its the individual brand theyre advertising not tampons as a whole. Otheriwse how would they compete??

We often find derogotary mens adverts repulsive when were eating our dinner but we dont complain...

  26. no... it makes it akward for the family. except my brother thinks pads are band-aids LOL.

  27. lol why are they advertised full stop?!

We all know we need to use them

by not advertising them it's not like we're going to forget

  28. yes put's you off your tea lol

  29. why is this in current events forum??

you should go the advertising or women's health section.

  30. In a way i agree with you.

Women will use them whether they are advertised or not as they need to.

But if you look at it from another angle, a lot of teenage girls aren't sure about feminine hygiene products and are embarrassed to ask parents so this is a good way of them knowing what is out there...

  31. sure why not?
