Should Tasmania have a team in the afl because tasmanians love football like everyone else and also if you look at tasmania they have some very great players that came from there like richo and riewoldt and others

I have stated my views earlier that the next expansion move by afl has to be to include Tassie. It doesn't need to be a new club. Surely Melbourne should be looking to move, or is that sacrelige? Consolidate in the South.

They deserve a team a lot more than NSW and Queensland they have been very loyal supporters of our game which makes me think the AFL hierarchy are hoping to relocate a Melbourne team there in the near future.

For about the 50th time I have answered this very same question in this section - AFL teams don't succeed solely through sentiments - it's the corporate dollar that govern everything nowadays, & there are not enough supporters or dollars in Tassie to warrant an AFL team being based there.

I believe that Tasmania should have an AFL Team, although it would probably have to be done with a Melbourne based side relocating there. The obvious choice for that would be Hawthorn, though I'm not sure how their supporters would feel about it. All in all a Tassie, West Sydney and Gold Coast AFL teams should exist, but unfortunately Melbourne based sides will either have to merge or relocate. Ten Melbourne teams is too many.

Yes they should. I don't see the point in having a second team from the Gold Coast, when there is already Brisbane, and also the other idea of a West Sydney team. I'm not sure what happened with that plan, but to have a team come from Tasmania would be good for football, but they should still have one new team also be brought in, Just to make it an even 18, instead of 17 meanign there would most likly be a 'bye' round every week.

Defently, Tasmanians do love footy and it would boost alot of the populalarity of afl there more if a team was introduced..

They have some good talent from there (as you mentioned, richo etc.) and it would be great to see players that are fantastic to be representing their own state and growing into wonderful AFL stars.

I come from Tasmania and I think They should have some.

heaps of people down here is tassie are really good at football.

Lately Tassie have been left of in alot of things and now its time for them to be shown.

NRL Is the best. In AFL You have to be on the mark looking at the guy in front with the ball when your not looking at the ball your just looking at his arm pit hair.
