  1. only if she can be buried alive!

  2. why wouldn't she?

  3. Ask the miners....

  4. 1 - Yes.

2 - No. (Nice try but this "question" is laughable :-))

  5. This question is just silly !  She's not dead.

  6. Most definitely NOT. She is something that we want to forget. The body, alive or dead should be sealed into one of the deep mines that she closed in her quest to make the UK into a service nation.

  7. No, it should be retained for only the truly great. Those such as Newton & Darwin who have entirely changed our understanding of the world or those such as Wellington & Churchill who have led our country when it was truly threatened with its very existence. Nelson is also a case in point. I do not understand why Palmerston and Gladstone were given State Funerals. I believe Montgomery should have been given one. Were Thacher to get one, there is an argument for saying Attlee should have had one.

Anyway, I think this idea was originally Blair's, so I expect his reason for raising it is because he's angling for one for himself!

  8. I'm sure she'll get one, but I don't think many people have fond memories of her

  9. why, is she dead?

  10. In all the years I have suffered under the lash of this horrible crone, the only thing that kept me going was that one day I could use her grave as a urinal. I am not concerned that said grave would be on hallowed ground, I will whip it out and wet her. As for her proposed state funeral, my political morality, beliefs and values will coalesce into action. I will line the route with a hunting catapult, eggs, ripe tomato's, smelly & rotten cabbage hearts to see if I can hit the gun carriage. As I am an ex naval man it will pain me to hit one of the sailors pulling the gun carriage with a bit of diseased pig bowel, I fully expect to be arrested but consider it to be fully worth it.

  11. As one of our greatest ever Prime Ministers, it would be fitting.

Now for all you leftie, sandal wearing, yoghurt knitting, liberal chattering class vegans out there that probably wern`t even born in the 1970`s (and for those of you that were, but have selctive amnesia of a labour govt) this country was in a right state, she turned this country round from being the "sick man of Europe" and possible the world into the 4th largest economy on the planet.

Setting aside Iraq, since 1997 this country has gradually been going the same way, our dustbins overflowing, crime rampant and how much longer before our dead are not going to get buried?  Not very long with the union dinosaurs banging on the doors of No 10.

  12. not at all, she's not loved by the majority of those in the country.

  13. What's the point? We all know she'll come back from the dead anyway. Only a stake through the heart or a silver bullet will put a fitting end to her.

  14. No she should not.

  15. The concept of a state funeral flies in the face of everything that Thatcher stood for, private enterprise and the minimum of state intervention. She should have a private funeral at her families expense. It's not as though they are short of a few quid is it.

She said that "there is no such thing as society" so why should society pick up the bill for her funeral.

  16. Yes Why do you Brits turn on your only good PM you did the same with Mr Churchill Why

If you don't want to spent the money many over the pond would be HonoUred to pay

  17. No!

  18. why waste more money on her, she has already cost the state plenty of money.

  19. I don't believe it would go against her ideals.  As a traditionalist and a conservative, I believe she would be for a state funded funeral. The funeral of someone that represented the country as Prime Minister should be state funded, not funded by private enterprise.

  20. No, she should be burned at the stake.

  21. Considering that she was one of the most significant political figures of 20th century Europe, she certainly deserves a state funeral- far more than any figurehead royal.

  22. She deserves it much more than any member of the Royal Family does.

  23. State funeral, no. State execution, why of course yes!!!

When that woman dies the entire UK will become the worlds biggest dance floor. I cannot wait for the street parties to start in recognition of her going straight to h**l

  24. There is no way that Thatch can be included in the same list as others who have been given a state funeral. She doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Newton, Nelson, Wellington, Palmerston, Gladstone and Churchill to name but a few. Three of those actually saved and united the country. She did the opposite.

  25. Why bother stick her to her  broomstick with super glue and shout home , the devil will be waiting for her with open arms . He will be sorry he ever made such a sorry excuse for a human being.

  26. Aye before she dies.

  27. Politics in Thatchers day was about "doing" not the "pretentious posturing" we get these days.

So I'll agree she wasn't always popular with everyone, but at least she had conviction (how wishy washy are our current politicians).

If Thatcher is to have a State Funeral (after she's dead) then I presume you intend the same honour to be given to all Prime Ministers.
