Question:

Should This Happen With My Surround Sound System?

Whenever i play CD's in my surround sound system, only the front left and right speakers have sound. However, if i play a DVD, the front left and right, the back left and right, the center, and sub all have sound. Should that happen or should all of the speakers work, even when playing just CDs?

  1. I agree with zgamestoo

Cd's are stereo (2 channels 2 speakers) so there is no surround left or right   or a center channel for your sytem to amplify.

hopefully your system has "simulated surround" so you can get sound out of all speakers that way

just be sure to switch back to "surround" when playing dvd's for the full surround effect

  2. CDs are 2 channels only.

DVDs are 5.1 Dolby surround or DTS

    It is OK.

You can setup to emulate 5.1 from 2 channel audio.
