Question:

Should Tiger Woods still win PGA player of the year?

Assuming no other players win more than one major, I think Tiger still could win player of the year. He has won almost $6 million in only 6 starts this year (4 wins, 1 second), and of course the U.S. Open.

Do you agree????

  1. Does anyone have more then 4 wins?

Does anyone go on a tear winning multiple vents after Tiger's injury?

Does Immelman or another win 2 majors? 2 are left to be played.

Does anyone build any sort of fan following with Tiger out?

At this point in the season with a win in the US Open and 2nd at the Masters combined with 3 other wins Tiger would be the front runner to win the honor. Not only is his season better then 95% of player on tour already it's better then 80% will get for the season. Combine that with what Tiger means to the game (Lower ticket sales without him, lower ratings on TV, less people even playing the game!), Tiger is the MVp of golf even in an injury shortened season.

  2. Way too soon to tell; you still have two majors, the FedEx cup playoffs, and even the Ryder Cup.

You can't award based on hypotheticals; the PoY is based on a full season.  For me, I'd look at the guys in the top of the FedEx Cup ladder and how they do in the majors.

  3. Based on total winnings and total wins If Tiger Woods prevails he should be nominated player of the year. There is no official number of tournaments  in which one must contest, as a requisite for that honor. But watch out for Anthony Kim. The boy has 2 under his belt already.

  4. If Anthony Kim, and Phil Mickelson, and Kenny Perry come and win 2 or 3 more its not likely to happen but tiger 4 wins out of 6 starts that's pretty impressive.

  5. It should go yo the first Golfer that gets more than 4 Wins and 1 Major this year , until that happens Tiger has it all wrapped up .

And by the way winning with a Blown ACL and stress fractures don't hurt his chances one bit , it only makes it more of a lock.

  6. If he doesn't play again this year then no he shouldn't.  Just because he had a great U.S. Open he shouldn't be given player of the year.  Player of the year should play for the majority of the season.  4 wins won't get him that honor.

  7. yes!!!!!!!!!!! he will have the most wins on tour and he finished within the top ten in every tournament he entered

  8. if anyone else has more than 4 wins and a major then no he shouldnt
